Experiences of former interns
My internship with the Luke Garrott Campaign was a life changing experience. No class could teach me the things I learned. Although it was a small campaign, it was precisely the size of it that allowed me to participate not only as an intern but as a member of the strategic staff. I was constantly asked about my ideas and opinions which made me feel I was a valuable asset to the campaign.

Participating in the Ralph Becker for Mayor Campaign, first as a volunteer and later as an intern, was one of the most educating and rewarding experiences of my college career. The people with whom I worked have become good friends and the skills and knowledge I learned will stay with me forever. Now that the race is over, I look back not only to a landslide victory, but also knowing that I helped make a difference in our city's future.

My internship at the Utah Democratic Party has not just illuminated the Party's message and its truth, for me, but it has done the same for my remembrance and appreciation of America, and the whole political system... From this internship, I have learned a significant amount about other people... but I have [also] learned a significant amount about myself. I have realized my abilities, in politics and beyond, and I have been instilled with an exciting, refreshing motivation to fulfill my potential. I have taken some of my first steps, by beginning and completing my internship at the Utah Democratic Party, of millions more to come, on the road of my life as a citizen, and my career as a politician.

I was able to not only earn credit from Westminster College, but attain knowledge of our election process from a "hands on" perspective. I was also very fortunate to work with an excellent campaign staff, with whom I was able to form wonderful friendships and feel I was able to develop a great working relationship with the candidate himself, Greg Skordas.

This experience has been invaluable, and has reaffirmed my commitment to both my own beliefs and the democratic process in this country. It has inspired me to continue seeking opportunities to be involved in the political process.
