Internships
Each election cycle, the Karen Shepherd Fund Board will determine which races to support with interns. For the names of the candidates selected for this election, contact the fund. Karen Shepherd Interns agree to the following:
Hours
Stipend
-
Interns will be paid a stipend of $50 per week during the length of the internship.
-
Upon completion of the campaign, interns must submit a written evaluation of their experience. It can be the same paper submitted to meet a course requirement. Our office must receive this evaluation before the stipend check can be issued.
Class Credit
-
Arranging class credit is the responsibility of the intern.
-
Currently, class credit is available through the Hinckley Institute of Politics at the University of Utah, and the political science departments at Salt Lake Community College, Utah Valley State College, Weber State University, Utah State University, and Westminster College of Salt Lake City. Credit from other Utah colleges/universities can be arranged through their respective political science departments. We welcome interns from all the institutions of higher education in Utah.
